The Team

Dr. Christy Ayles was raised in rural Alberta and moved to Calgary in 2003. She majored in biological Sciences at Dalhousie University and the University of Calgary. Dr. Ayles graduated on the Dean's honour list in 2012. She and her husband, Alex, moved to Revelstoke in August 2014. 

​

While at Dalhousie University, she assisted with a glaucoma research project. In her final year of school, Dr. Ayles spent time interning with a Cataract and Refractive Ophthalmologist in Maryland. She also interned with Optometrists in both New Zealand and Calgary. Dr. Ayles has a passion for volunteering and has participated in an eye care mission trip in Ecuador with VOSH International.

Dr. Ayles is an active member of the Revelstoke Rotary Club. When she is not in the office she can be found at the hockey rink.

Dr. Amy Nordstrom graduated from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Optometry in 2006 with honours. Previously, she obtained her bachelor's degree in biological sciences at the University of Calgary in 2002. She completed her internship working with ophthalmologists at St. Eriks Eye hospital and the world-renowned medical university, Karolinska Institute, in Stockholm, Sweden.

She was raised in northern Alberta and has always loved the mountains. She moved to Revelstoke with her husband and their son in 2020. Dr. Nordstrom is an avid skier and enjoys mountain biking. 

Kristine joined the team at the Revelstoke Optometry Centre in January 2016 and has since been a cornerstone of our operations. With a career in the optical industry that began in 2005, Kristine has continually enhanced her expertise, completing her Optometric Assistant's Course in June 2017 and her Ocular Hygienist training in 2022.

 

In her role as office manager, she ensures that daily operations run seamlessly, and she is renowned for her expertise in glasses repairs and her precise fitting of eyewear to each patient’s unique facial features. Her deep knowledge of our product offerings ensures that patients receive the best possible care and guidance.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping for swim meets, hanging out with her two dogs, and quilting.

Amie joined the Revelstoke Optometry Centre team in February 2018 and finished her Optometric Assistant's certification in June 2019 and has previous healthcare experience with over 10 years in the dental industry. Amie loves helping patients pick new, exciting frames and stays on top of all the new style trends. Amie completed her Ocular Hygienist training in 2022 and enjoys offering the newest treatments for dry eye management and ocular aesthetics.​

Amie is Vice President of the Revelstoke Aquaducks and ensures that the club continues to be easily accessible and enjoyable for local families. Outside of work, Amie enjoys spending time with her husband and raising their two beautiful children.

Natasha joined the team in February 2023 and has a unique blend of skills and experiences that now enrich her role at the front desk and in the frame room, where she excels in providing exceptional service with both warmth and professionalism. Born and raised in Revelstoke, Natasha first studied cosmetology before discovering a passion for photography and becoming a successful freelance photographer.

Natasha’s joyful demeanor and calming influence create a positive atmosphere for both guests and colleagues alike. Outside of work, she continues to pursue her passion for photography and enjoys quality time with her family. 

Misha joined the team in December 2024. With a warm smile and welcoming presence, Misha is one of the first friendly faces you'll meet at our front desk. Originally from Brockville, Ontario, she recently made the move to Revelstoke and is thrilled to immerse herself in the breathtaking outdoor lifestyle the area is known for.

An enthusiastic hiker and rock climber, Misha is passionate about exploring the natural beauty of her new home. Her diverse background, which includes experience in a zipline park, welding, and hospitality, has equipped her with outstanding people skills and a can-do attitude. Misha’s approachable nature and adventurous spirit make her a valued member of our team and a delight to be around.

Henrietta joined the team in June 2025. Originally from Surrey, B.C., Henrietta recently relocated to Revelstoke with her partner, excited to settle into mountain life and enjoy everything the outdoors has to offer.

Before joining our team, Henrietta spent seven years in Kamloops working as both a chef and a social worker—two roles that highlight her creativity, empathy, and versatility. She holds a master’s degree in social work and has earned her chef’s ticket, bringing a unique blend of care and skill to her role at the front desk.

​

In her free time, Henrietta enjoys paddleboarding, hiking, skiing, and curling up with a good book. With her kind nature and fun-loving energy, she brings warmth and positivity to our team every day.

Kat joined the team in June 2025. Born and raised in Chetwynd, B.C., Kat made Revelstoke her home in 2004 and hasn’t looked back. While she’s spent time in other places over the years, the mountains and strong sense of community here always drew her back.

​

Before joining our team, Kat owned and operated her own cleaning business. Her professional background is as diverse as it is impressive. She's also worked as a drywall finisher and at a local kitchen store, gaining practical skills and a reputation for being hardworking and dependable.

​

In her downtime, Kat is most at home in the great outdoors. She loves hunting, fishing, paddling, and hiking—but her favourite way to spend time is simply hanging out with her kids. Kind, grounded, and full of heart, Kat brings a warm, friendly energy to our office every day.
